Summary: As the Director SEC Reporting & Derivatives, you will be responsible for timely and accurate completion of all regulatory filings, derivative and stock-based compensation accounting and technical accounting research, as well as other general accounting functions, at the company’s corporate headquarters.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 4, proxy statements and related exhibits
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant external reporting in accordance with SEC regulations, US GAAP, and XBRL requirements
- Own critical accounting estimates, judgments, disclosures, and technical memoranda supporting external reporting positions
- Coordinate closely with external auditors and serve as a primary point of contact during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Monitor and assess emerging accounting standards and SEC rule changes; lead implementation of new reporting requirements
- Oversee regulatory and census reporting, and partner with Treasury on bank reporting
- Oversee derivative accounting and reporting, including entries and disclosures
- Ensure compliance with ASC 815 hedge accounting requirements, including documentation, effectiveness testing, and disclosures
- Review valuation methodologies, key assumptions, and controls associated with derivative instruments
- Oversee stock-based compensation accounting and disclosures
- Ensure compliance with ASC 718, including valuation, expense recognition, forfeiture estimates, tax effects, and disclosures
- Oversee equity‑related disclosures in SEC filings and footnotes, including rollforwards and key assumptions
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and public‑company reporting
- Deep expertise in SEC reporting, US GAAP, and technical accounting research
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 815 (Derivatives) and ASC 718 (Stock‑Based Compensation)
- CPA license a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&O, Workiva, E*Trade, Agris or a similar accounting software packages a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical analysis and accounting research skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
