Position Summary of Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all nursing services within the facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, clinical quality, and staff engagement. This role partners closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to maintain exceptional care outcomes and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all nursing operations, including staffing, clinical care, and compliance

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations

  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and staff

  • Monitor clinical quality indicators, audits, and survey readiness

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes

  • Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement

  • Manage clinical policies, procedures, and performance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of NJ

  • Prior Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility strongly preferred

  • Proven knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to quality care and staff development
