Job Description

Purpose of Position

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs.  The Benefits Specialist is also responsible for the implementation of various benefit projects, as necessary.  Additionally, the Benefits Specialist provides excellent customer service and quality benefits plans, investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors benefits administration, as well as assisting in the design of employee benefits plans, wellness programs, and provides technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Act as day-to-day contact for all benefit vendors.  Lead weekly and bi-weekly vendor calls.   Lead and coordinate the establishment of processes for efficient and accurate data file transfer between NetJets systems and vendor systems.  Leads audits related to data file accuracy and completions. 
  • Research employee benefit plans and vendor offerings to support benefits strategy. Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs.  Assist with the design and implementation of new benefits programs.    
  •  Perform routine operational and plan audits, including preparing, collecting and organizing data for internal and external audit needs and requests.  
  • Provides oversight of compliance-related requirements (i.e. ERISA).  Coordinates and ensures completion of various government surveys, tests and returns.  Stays abreast of new legislation and researches new legislation for benefit design and policies to understand broader impact to current programs and systems.
