GENERAL PURPOSE: The concessions staff is responsible for operating concession stands during youth sports leagues, tournaments, and other recreational events. This front-line customer service role ensures participants, spectators, and families receive quick, friendly service while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and inventory control.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Greet customers and take orders accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Prepare and serve food and beverage items (hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, sodas, candy, bottled water, etc.)
- Operate cash registers/POS systems, handle cash and card transactions, and balance drawers at end of shift
- Maintain proper food temperatures, follow all health department guidelines, and hold required food handler certification
- Keep concession areas clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift
- Perform opening and closing procedures (setup, inventory counts, cleaning, and securing the stand)
- Monitor and report low stock levels or equipment issues to the supervisor
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve minor complaints professionally
- Assist with special promotions, fundraising events, or themed concession nights
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and emergency procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled)
- Previous customer service or food service experience is a plus
- Basic math skills and comfort using POS systems
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when required

- Basic computer skills for inventory and sales tracking
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours)
- Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (cases of soda, popcorn bags, etc.)
- Reach, bend, and move quickly in tight spaces
- Work in warm or cold environments (grills, freezers, outdoor stands)
