The City of Sioux Falls is hiring a Lead Building Maintenance Worker to help maintain the facilities our community depends on every day. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in quality work and can lead a crew, set expectations, and keep work moving whether working independently or alongside others.

We’re looking for a self-motivated, relationship-driven professional who’s ready to help power the work that keeps our city running.

What you’ll do

You will act as a crew leader during supervised and unsupervised work periods by assigning, tracking, and ensuring completion of regular duties and service requests. You will also perform semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance, including cleaning, general maintenance, and general repair of City buildings, systems, and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or GED certification, or trade school with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in custodial and building maintenance and repair activities, including experience with the operation and maintenance of low pressure boilers and other heating and cooling systems, electrical, and plumbing; or any such combination of education, training, or experience as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Willing to work standby duty for building security systems, HVAC/R, and maintenance alerts.

Possession of a valid driver’s license prior to hire is required.
