EFFECTIVE TEACHER TRAINING CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED.


 


THIS CERTIFICATE MUST BE ATTACHED IN THE DOCUMENTS PORTION OF YOUR APPLICATION FOR VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE POSITION.


 


 





Reports to: Building principal and/or other authorized administrators


 


Qualifications: High School Diploma


Successfully complete Effective Teacher Training


 


Nature of work: In the absence of a classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.  


 


Essential Functions: 1. Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students and staff.



  • Interacts in a professional manner with students and staff.

  • Maintains student confidentiality.

  • Works cooperatively with all school personnel.


 



  1. Complies with Lenoir County Public Schools Board of Education policies.


    • Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled.

    • Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.

    • Dresses in a manner consistent with school policies.



 



  1. Demonstrates professional practices in teaching.


    • Models correct use of oral and written language.

    • Follows teacher lesson plans as required by school policy.



 



  1. Acts in a professional manner.


    • Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities.

    • Assumes responsibility for supervising students in out-of-class settings.




  1. Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
