    Description:  Assistant Principal/Dean of Students

    Location:      Deer Creek Elementary Shool

    Schedule:     2024-2025 School Year.  Starts August 1, 2024.  Board approved 2024-2025 Academic Calendar. (4 days/week)
                         176 days per academic year.

     

    Salary:      Initial placement on salary scale is based upon highest degree earned, college credits earned after highest degree, and up to six (10) years credit for previous experience.  
                      Salary based on licensed salary schedule but prorated to a 176 day calendar.

                        Sick/Personal days earned at 1 day for every 20 days worked

    Qualifications:  

     
    • Hold CO Principal license preferred
    • A minimum of two year's experience as a licensed teacher
    • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
    • CPR and First Aid certification obtained within 90 days following the first date of employment.
     

    Responsibilities for Assistant Principal:

     
    • Take an active role in the collaborative work with teachers to improve student achievement.
    • Provide leadership for the positive behavior support system.
    • Work collaboratively with principal to support students who have been referred for behavior issues,.  Enter behavior reports in Infinite Campus.
    • Provide leadership for writing 504 plans and communicating these plans to teachers, staff and parents.
    • Provide leadership for the scheduling and administration of district interim and state mandated assessments.
    • Serve as the Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal.
    • Take an active role in Professional Learning Community committees.
    • Work collaboratively with the principal to learn about the staff and teacher supervision and evaluation process.
    • Work collaboratively with the principal on initiatives to continue to improve parental involvement and community volunteers in the school.
    • Take an active role on the School Advisory Committee.
    • Maintain an ongoing effort to promote positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the community. (See Policy Group K)
    • Prepare reports as requested by the Principal.
    • Be familiar with and abide by Federal and Colorado laws, Board of Education policies, District Regulations, and school procedures that relate to employment with the District (See Group Policy G)
