Job Summary

In this role, you ensure the ongoing account management for all existing and new business development accounts and &Classwork migration. You are the point person for all customers supported by the BASM. Your focus is to process all sales orders, tracking them daily and weekly, mitigating any issues and keeping customers informed, ensuring orders are received as expected. As a BAS, you demonstrate exemplary service through your knowledge of our business and your proven administrative skills with our systems and technology. The BAS will be focused on and held directly accountable for onboarding new accounts into all systems including account applications, tax exemption certification validation, set up in both ordering systems, &Classwork and VOS, completion of non-complex contracts, RFPs and RFQs, customer satisfaction from the ordering process through the delivery of products.

What You Do

• Communicate with educators, administrators, and others on orders, quotes and follow up as needed through delivery of product.
• Review quote requests from customers, checking on hands at the Distribution Center to determine if the quote and customer should be routed through &Classwork for placement.
• Process quotes for the BASM stores through VOS, partners with the BASM on all quotes requiring more than a 20% discount.
• Place orders using VOS (if stock is not available at the Distribution Center), researching and following up on placed orders using all available resources, including but not limited to, VOS, 944-READ and Bookmaster.
• Onboarding new accounts into all systems including account applications, tax exemption certification validation, set up in both ordering systems, &Classwork and VOS, completion of non-complex contracts, RFPs and RFQs,
• Completion of non-complex contracts, RFPs and RFQs,
• Use &Classwork as appropriate, researching and updating &Classwork contacts on a regular basis.
• Review individual school websites, Niche.com, and School Digger to ensure your database is current and ready for migration to &Classwork.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the company's products and key programs and initiatives to effectively highlight their value and features.
• Support Institutional and Corporate e-commerce business by completing setup of customers in &Classwork and completing sales process of new and existing customers through &Classwork portal.
• Ensure orders received are sorted, complete and delivered through partnership with the store team.
• Process orders correctly through POS.
• Use software systems/programs: Excel, Email, &Classwork, VOS, Outlook Calendar, and Teams timely and with accuracy.

Knowledge & Experience

• Has two years of bookselling experience demonstrating advancement and knowledge of book and non-book areas.
• Has proven excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in all work assigned, meeting deadlines consistently.
• Shows curiosity and asks questions to clarify understanding.
• Possess analytic skills and demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Demonstrates proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office, IM2, &Classwork, and VOS.
• Demonstrates clear communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Work collaboratively with employees, customers and others across the company with regard to the Business Development department
• Are always cheerful with customers, consistently going out of your way to help them.
• Make the right suggestions to help solve problems and provide our customers with what they need.
