Senior Maintenance Technician - PPAM

About the Job: The purpose of this position is to perform advanced maintenance, repair, and operational duties to support Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain, facilities roadway and drainage. This includes operating heavy and light equipment, daily facility maintenance, light construction, constructing and rehabilitating natural resource-based properties, and ensuring safe and efficient operations across assigned areas. Employees at this level exercise independent judgment and may supervise seasonal staff.

Work Schedule: This position will require Sunday as a normal workday, this position will require working over 10,000ft in elevation on a daily basis. This position will also be on a 4 day-10-hour schedule from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September, this will be a Sunday through Wednesday schedule for this time period. From October through late May this will return to a normal 5-day 8 hour Schedule, Sunday through Thursday.

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Operate heavy and light equipment for roadway, drainage, snow removal, facility, corridor, and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform advanced maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, and related systems preferably with an electrical and or HVAC background.
  • Complete work orders; estimate materials, time, and equipment needs for projects.
  • Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues.
  • Fabricate and modify materials for special applications (signage, equipment modifications and minor construction/facility projects). 
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections, maintain logs, and perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
  • Perform field inspections, assess repair needs, and create work plans prioritized by safety and resources.
  • May supervise and train seasonal employees; ensure adherence to safety standards and review completed work for accuracy.
  • Fuel monitoring and inspections for underground storage tanks.
  • Respond to public inquiries courteously and provide information within the area of assignment.

Position Duties

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
  • Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire.
  • Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (Class B with Tanker Endorsement and no restrictions) within 12 months of hire. Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) is preferred.
  • Colorado Class A/B UST Operator Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification within 12 months of start date.

Physical Demands

Exerting 20–50 lbs. occasionally; 10–25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10 lbs. constantly.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids

Heavy and light equipment (i.e., skid loader, backhoe, bobtail, forklift, front loader, tandem axel snowplow), hand tools, small plumbing, HVAC, Electrical hand tools, computer, printer, copier, telephone, and standard office equipment.
