Job Description

DEPARTMENT: campus ministries and student engagement



Position Summary: The Coordinator for Residential Facilities provides oversight for residential asset inventory and maintenance response at NGU. This position is a 12-month, full-time with benefits position housed with Campus Ministries and Student Engagement (CMSE). This person reports directly to the AVP for Student Life and is required to live on campus. This person plays a key role in helping develop transformational leaders for church and society, specifically within the residence halls. This person is expected to live in accordance with a Christian code of conduct and to take a Christian discipleship orientated approach to the training and leading of the Student Leadership Team. This position takes charge of managing the residential assets and maintenance response by collaborating closely the other coordinator for residential facilities along with Campus Enhancement Services (CES), Budd Group and NGU Tigerville Operations. The person should effectively engage with a diverse group of individuals, including students, faculty, and staff. They will strive for excellence in Residential Services and cultivate strong, discipleship-oriented relationships with students in the residential community while serving their felt needs.

 



RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Assist the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Student Life in developing methods, plans, and policies that align with the goals of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement (CMSE).

  • Manage residential facilities inventory for all residential buildings at the Tigerville campus. This includes cataloging all assets, managing life cycles of assets, ordering replacements, and assisting in strategic planning.

  • Conduct walkthroughs of each residential space at a minimum once a semester and at the end of summer to evaluate all furniture, mattresses, and other resident hall assets.

  • Assist in managing and responding to work orders for residence halls.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to the residential facilities.

  • Provide support with housing placements when the Coordinator of Residential Services is out of the office or during peak room assignment seasons.

  • Help manage non-standard check-in days (such as during football events or for summer staff).

  • Work closely with the Campus Enhancement team, Budd Group, and NGU Operations to ensure that relevant departments are informed about issues in the residence halls.

Physical Requirements




  • Visual Abilities:  Read reports, create presentations, and use a computer system.

  • Hearing:   Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and students.

  • Dexterity, Grasping, Feeling, Write, type, and use the telephone, copier, and computer systems.

  • Mobility:  Open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus. Visit all residential facilities on campus on a regular basis.

  • Talking:  Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  • Lifting, Pulling, Pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions  75 to 100% of the time.



 



WORKING RELATIONSHIPS



This position is a full-time non-exempt position in Campus Ministries and Student Engagement and reports directly to the AVP for Student Life. This position works closely with all other employees in the Campus Ministries and Student Engagement department and must be able to work with a wide range of individuals including students, faculty, and staff.



 



WORK SCHEDULE



Campus Ministries and Student Engagement is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Summer hours may vary. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. Occasional work on Saturdays and evenings may be required.



 



TRAVEL



Some travel may be required; however, all travel will be within regional proximity to the NGU Tigerville campus.
