Description

Valley Community Services Board is seeking a motivated individual to join our finance team as an accountant! The accountant provides essential support or ownership for a broad array of tasks. The incumbent works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate and efficient financial reports and serves as the primary point of contact for fund managers throughout the agency. As a Client Engagement Specialist, you will be the welcoming face and organizational backbone of our Outpatient Services, handling both front desk and client engagement functions.

Essential Functions

  • Registration & Front Desk:
    • Complete full registrations for all initial clients seeking services including data entry of demographic information, verification of payers, and financial assessments.
    • Update current client registrations and financial assessments as needed.
    • Assist clinicians with completing client urine drug screens.
    • Collect and post client insurance and co-payments, aiming to collect 75% of expected fees at the time of service.
    • Greet clients and visitors, manage client check-in and check-out procedures.
    • Monitor the waiting room for safety and security.
  • Scheduling & Engagement:
    • Schedule new and established client appointments, including Same Day Access intake and addendum appointments.
    • Prioritize scheduling for key populations.
    • Triage calls and information to departments and staff for follow-up as indicated, including appointment changes.
    • Triage crisis calls to Emergency Services for screening and evaluation                 
    • Conduct outreach and follow-up to track potential and initial clients to ensure engagement in services.
  • Administrative & Coordination:
    • Answer phone calls, check voicemail every 2 hours, and respond to all calls by the close of the next business day.
    • Ensure all documentation of appointments and client contacts are completed within 24 hours in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • Work closely with other agency departments to ensure efficient procedures, including assisting with information for admissions and performing clerical tasks.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Strong computer skills, including EHR proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic crisis intervention techniques, HIPAA, and confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients with substance use and a wide range of mental disorders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of relevant behavioral health experience OR currently enrolled in a college behavioral health program OR LPN with behavioral health experience.
