We�re looking for a Part-Time Project Scheduler to join our team and play a critical role in planning, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules throughout both design and construction phases. This position acts as a scheduling consultant, supporting project teams by developing accurate, CPM-based schedules that guide successful project delivery. Estimated 16-20 hours a week.


What You�ll Do

Schedule Development

  • Design Schedule Creation: Develop draft design schedules in collaboration with the project team, incorporating all design phase activities, milestones, and deliverables
  • Construction Schedule Integration: Integrate design schedule into the comprehensive baseline construction schedules that establish the project�s critical path and overall timeline framework created by the CM.
  • Schedule Organization: Participate in meetings with project stakeholders to gather information, understand project scope, and organize schedule structure and logic

Schedule Management & Updates

  • Progress Tracking: Process bi-weekly or monthly schedule updates by incorporating:

    • Actual start and finish dates for in-progress or completed activities
    • Remaining durations for incomplete work
    • Activity percent complete
    • Resource allocation and utilization data
  • Schedule Maintenance: Perform regular logic edits, plan adjustments, and incorporate bilateral change directives into the working schedule

Documentation & Reporting

  • Report Generation: Produce electronic schedule reports in PDF format with supporting graphics and visual representations of project timelines
  • File Management: Maintain and distribute Primavera P6 (XER) backup files for project team use and submission requirements

Collaboration & Communication

  • Stakeholder Meetings: Participate in monthly update meetings (virtually or on-site as required) with the owner and project team
  • Review & Revision: Incorporate owner-requested edits and revisions into schedule updates based on meeting feedback
  • Change Management: Develop logic and scheduling for approved change orders and directives

Technical Analysis

  • Budget & Resource Integration: Ensure schedule aligns with budget and resource information balanced to contract requirements
  • Logic Development: Create and maintain activity relationships, dependencies, and critical path logic
  • Time Impact Evaluation: Conduct analysis of schedule impacts for change requests or proposal pricing (as directed)

Deliverables

  • Draft Design Schedule (within 5 working days of initial meeting)
  • Final Design Schedule with integrated budget and resource data
  • Draft Baseline Schedule for review
  • Final Baseline Schedule with complete logic and resource loading
  • Bi-weekly or monthly progress update schedules
  • Electronic reports (PDF) with graphics
  • Primavera P6 backup files (XER format)


What You Bring

Technical Proficiency

  • Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software (latest version)
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles
  • Ability to develop complex project logic and activity relationships
  • Proficiency in creating schedule graphics and visual representations

Professional Experience

  • Extensive background in construction or design scheduling across various project types
  • Experience with design phase and construction phase scheduling
  • Knowledge of contract requirements and scheduling specifications
  • Understanding of resource loading and budget integration

Analytical Skills

  • Ability to analyze project information and translate it into comprehensive schedules
  • Strong problem-solving skills for schedule optimization
  • Capability to identify and communicate critical path activities and project risks

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to present complex scheduling information clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Collaborative approach to working with project teams


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer.


Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required.
