Job Description

This is a project site–based role located in Michigan, with work performed on-site for the duration of the project.

TEi Construction Services has been delivering solutions to power generation facilities across the United States for more than 20 years. Our teams support some of the largest utilities and industrial plants in the country, executing complex work safely, efficiently, and under tight schedules.

We are looking for a Project Controls Specialist who enjoys working directly on project sites alongside construction and operations teams. In this role, you will help keep projects on schedule, within budget, and running efficiently from start to finish.

This position is based full-time at assigned project sites and plays a critical role in supporting field leadership and project management teams during the execution of major power generation construction projects.

As part of the project team, you will help track performance, manage costs, and support scheduling to ensure successful project delivery.

Cost Management & Budget Tracking

  • Assist in developing project budgets based on cost estimates, resource plans, and procurement needs
  • Track project costs and report variances to project leadership
  • Support proposal development by contributing to project cost estimates
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved efficiency

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Work with project planners and field leadership to maintain project schedules and milestones
  • Monitor progress and identify potential schedule risks or delays
  • Support planning efforts to ensure work stays aligned with project timelines and budgets

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Establish project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Track schedule progress, resource utilization, and scope changes
  • Prepare dashboards and reports to keep project stakeholders informed

Risk & Change Management

  • Identify potential project risks and work with the team to develop mitigation strategies
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments
  • Support the change management process, evaluating the schedule and cost impacts of scope changes

Project Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, planners, and field supervision to support project execution
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Participate in project review meetings and help resolve project control challenges
