The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG) is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team at our new state-of-the-art Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). This facility provides critical support and stabilization services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in a safe, structured environment. Join us in making a meaningful impact through compassionate, person-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of individuals, staff, and visitors
- Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate or unsafe behavior
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms in accordance with established procedures
- Assist with de-escalation of tense situations using appropriate techniques; only as a last resort after clinical staff has tried all de-escalation techniques.
- Control access to the facility by verifying identification and monitoring entry/exit points
- Document and report incidents, accidents, and unusual activities accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Conduct routine safety checks of the facility and report hazards or maintenance concerns
- Provide assistance and direction to visitors, staff, and individuals served as needed
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in high-stress or crisis situations
- Basic computer skills for documentation and report writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
Here’s what would put you over the top:
- Previous experience as an unarmed security guard
- Training in de-escalation techniques
- Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations
