Position Summary:

Designs, builds, and supports automated test systems, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups and End-of-Line (EoL) testers for automotive and industrial control products. Responsibilities include interface hardware design, test rack wiring, software integration (LabVIEW, NI VeriStand), automation scripting (Python, NI TestStand, TraceTronic ECU-TEST), and integration of vehicle and industrial communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Modbus, EtherNet/IP). Collaborates cross-functionally to troubleshoot system issues and ensure test coverage for verification and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement HIL and EoL test systems for ECUs, actuators, sensors, and industrial controllers.
  • Assemble and wire test racks, load boxes, and signal conditioning interfaces based on system schematics.
  • Develop test sequences and automation scripts using LabVIEW, Python, or NI VeriStand.
  • Integrate CAN, LIN, Modbus, or EtherNet/IP protocols into test systems.
  • Interpret automotive specs such as ISO 26262 and ensure systems meet functional safety requirements where applicable.
  • Support root cause analysis of product or test system failures.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including schematics, test procedures, and maintenance guides.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • 3�5 years of experience in designing or supporting test systems in automotive or industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with test instrumentation (DAQs, load banks, sensors, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ECU testing, vehicle communication buses (CAN, LIN), and signal simulation.
  • Working knowledge of National Instruments tools (LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand) is a strong plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working in lab or production environments.
