    HVAC Technician

    The Toms River Regional Board of Education has 18 schools and 5 support facilities. Join a team of hard working individuals committed to service excellence. We have an opening for the following position:
     
    The selected candidate must possess the following:
     
    5 years direct experience.  Good Interpersonal skills, computer literacy, equipment troubleshooting ability, maintenance, ability to work alone and with others. Hours to be Monday - Friday. Overtime paid. Flexibility during holidays and summers.

    Work skills:
    • Emphasis on electrical components; motor starters, contactors, lock out-tag out, unit replacements.
    • Must climb ladders and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
    • You will be working in tight spaces and on roofs.
    • Record keeping and data base collection and retention of information required.
    • Pull cabling for energy management system upgrades.
    • Ability to order supplies necessary for daily job functions.
    • Other maintenance items as may be directed
    Required skill sets:   Systems Sizes – 1-5 tons, 5-20 tons, 20-50 tons, 100 tons. 
     
    Manufacturers are Bryant, Carrier, Honeywell, Trane, York, McQuay, Aaon, ICP
     
    Familiarity with Air Dist. Equipment; Air Handlers; Commercial Boilers- Steam & Equipment hot water univents; Screw Compressors; Chillers; Cooling Towers; Dehumidification; Forced Air Systems; Heat Pumps; HVAC Equipment; Package Units; Rooftop Units; Split Systems; Walk-Ins /Refrigeration; Water Heaters           
     
    Skills with Parts and Accessories: Coils; Compressors; Condensers; Dampers; Diffusers; Duct Work; Electric Motors; Fans; Grills; HVAC; Registers; Sheet Metal; Sound Attenuators; Air Compressors; Motorized valves and VFD drives
     
    Skills: Cold Storage; Institutional knowledge of EM Applications systems            
     
    Skills: Building Automation; Controls – Design; Programming; DDC; Pneumatic controls
