Job Description

Department: Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)
Location: Pacific Wood Laminates, Brookings, OR
Schedule: 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts | Hiring for a spot on swing shift 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM |  (Day shift for training - 5 AM - 3:30 PM)
Employment Type: Full-Time

This position plays a key role in the production of high-quality engineered wood products. Candidates must be team-oriented, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and grade LVL pieces, identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Safely feed, sort, and stack materials to maintain consistent workflow on the production line.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removal of debris and reporting equipment concerns.
  • Monitor the flow of materials and assist with adjustments to conveyor or machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues.
  • Participate in basic maintenance checks and report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Assist with end-of-shift cleanup and proper equipment shutdown procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a wood products or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with operating production machinery is a plus, though not required.

  • Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train on equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.

  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, and noisy environments.

  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing, eye, hand, and foot protection.
