Job Description

Data & Reporting Analyst

Unit: Data Analytics, AI & Reporting - Research, Development, Innovation & Advocacy (FSC)

Location: Vienna (Austria), Nairobi (Kenya), Skopje (North Macedonia), Amman (Jordan), Faridabad (India), La Paz (Bolivia), Dakar (Senegal)

About us

SOS Children's Villages, founded in 1949, is the world's largest non-governmental organization focused on supporting children and young people without parental care, or at risk of losing it.

Child neglect, abuse and abandonment are everywhere. Families are at risk of separation. Locally led, we work in more than 130 countries and territories to strengthen families who are under pressure so they can stay together. When this is not in a child or young person's best interests, we provide quality care according to their unique needs.

Together with partners, donors, communities, children, young people and families, we enable children to grow up with the bonds they need to develop and become their strongest selves. We speak up for each child's rights and advocate for change so all children can grow up in a supportive environment.

They contribute to the leadership of SOS Children’s Villages International (CVI) including enabling sound budgeting and financial management by leaders and managers in the two units: FCS (Federation Secretariat) and IDS (International Development Support).

Mission

The Global Insights Unit sets standards and processes for programme data, manages programme IT systems, and delivers global insights across the federation. By integrating data governance, systems management, analytics, and reporting, the unit ensures that reliable, secure, and consolidated programme data is available to member associations, governing bodies, and partners to support accountability, learning, and evidence-based decision-making

The Data & Reporting Analyst designs, develops, and optimizes reporting and analytics solutions to ensure stakeholders have access to clear and accurate insights. The role ensures that data is effectively transformed into scalable dashboards and analytical outputs, supporting both operational and strategic decision-making across the federation.

  • Collaborate with ICT and data teams to implement and maintain efficient data pipelines and structures
  • Ensure reporting solutions comply with federation-wide data architecture, governance standards, and data quality requirements

  1. Data Analysis & Insights Generation
  • Conduct advanced analytical and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Translate complex datasets into insights for programme improvement, strategy, and donor reporting
  • Ensure analytical outputs are understandable by non-technical audiences while maintaining statistical rigor

  1. Innovation & Strategic Development
  • Contribute to the development of new reporting and analytics solutions, including AI-supported tools and approaches
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability of reporting processes
  • Integrate additional datasets (e.g. finance, fund development, external data)
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence

  1. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support senior leadership, programme teams, and other stakeholders by providing clear reporting outputs and analysis that inform decision-making
  • Support junior analysts, fostering best practices in analytics and reporting
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of reporting solutions with organizational priorities
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
