Summary:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Drug Enforcement Officer plays an important role investigating violations of Ho-Chunk Nation, Federal and Wisconsin State laws that involve controlled substances, illegal drugs, and drug abuse. The agent’s focus will be on organizations and individuals who grow, manufacture, and distribute drugs within the Ho-Chunk Nation lands. The primary goal of the Drug Enforcement Officer is to interrupt the flow of drug traffic before it reaches potential users.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
1. Complete at least a two (2) year Associate Degree from an accredited collegiate or technical college in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.
2. Must be a Certified Law Enforcement Officer by the State of Wisconsin Training and Standards Board.
ESSENTIAL:
1. Must be able to pass a formal comprehensive background check.
2. Must not be convicted of any felony or domestic abuse violation or any other conviction in other states that would constitute a felony in the State of Wisconsin in order to qualify for carrying a firearm.
3. Must maintain residency in one of the 14 county service areas within the Ho-Chunk Nation.
4. Must have a valid Wisconsin motor vehicle operator’s license and proper insurance.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Shall have at least two (2) years working in the field of law enforcement.
2. Professional training /experience firing weapons.
3. Experience with defensive driving.
4. Experience operating police equipment, i. e. radios, sirens, maneuvering vehicle during a car chase.
