Job Description

The Payment Product Partnerships Analyst supports the execution of the regional third-party engagement model and governance processes to facilitate American Express (AXP) product and capability adoption across markets in the region and with selected global providers.

This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including local PCG, Product, and Merchant Services, to contribute to product deployments, maintain third-party documentation and controls, and support adherence to enterprise Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Regional Third‑Party Support & Execution 
    Support the execution of regional third-party plans and rollout activities across markets and specialized global providers. Assist local teams and partners during product implementations and upgrades by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and providing structured inputs to support prioritization and delivery decisions.

  •  

  • Third‑Party Relationship & Commercial Support 
    Support the management of the regional third-party portfolio by maintaining documentation, preparing analyses, and assisting with service-level monitoring and product readiness activities. Contribute inputs to commercial discussions and product support arrangements to help ensure AXP product availability and quality at the point of sale (POS), under guidance from senior stakeholders.

 

  • Governance, Risk & Controls 
    Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of regional third-party governance processes, including controls, documentation standards, and reporting, in alignment with enterprise TPRM requirements. Assist with data collection, issue tracking, and coordination with local markets to support consistent execution.

 

  • Business Development & Market Insights 
    Contribute to the identification of third-party opportunities and emerging payment trends through research, analysis, and information gathering. Support pipeline tracking and assist in synthesizing industry insights and market intelligence for internal stakeholders. 

 

  • Consultative Delivery & Cross‑Functional Collaboration 
    Provide analytical and operational support to regional initiatives by collaborating with NAS, PCG, GMNS, Product, Risk, GCO, and Technology teams. Contribute to project delivery and provide product and process inputs to support timely execution within defined scope.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of third-party governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks, including exposure to TPRM concepts 

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prepare structured inputs, documentation, and recommendations to support decision-making 

  • Ability to translate defined objectives into well-organized execution tasks and follow-up actions 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and support stakeholder interactions 

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to track actions, manage dependencies, and support project delivery activities 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders 

  • Experience gathering, synthesizing, and communicating industry or partner insights to internal stakeholders

  • At least business level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written, verbal)
