Job Opening for Assistant Director of Health/Sanitarian II
Salary Range: $96,000 to $130,000 annually
Overview
The position requires both administrative skills and field experience. This class is accountable for performing professional sanitarian regulatory work at a full performance level involving enforcement of the public health code, while also conducting special agency projects and supporting agency strategic functions through shared leadership responsibilities.

What You Should Bring
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university, or university course work of study with major course work in public health, environmental health, bacteriology or a closely related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental, public health or a related field. Master's Degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university is required. A current DPH certification in food service inspection, a Registered Sanitarian license issued by the CT DPH, and phase 1 & 2 subsurface sewage certification are required at time of appointment. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, with the ability to effectively enforce health codes with a compassionate, educational approach and the ability to work independently or as part of the team.
