Work Schedule

• Seasonal position (typically spring, summer and fall months)
• Typical Hours 7:00 AM to 3:30, may vary due to operational needs
• Schedule determined by departmental needs
• $16.50 per hour

The Seasonal Laborer assists the School District Buildings & Grounds Department with maintaining safe, clean, and well-kept school grounds. Duties include lawn mowing, weed removal, and general groundskeeping tasks, as well as assisting full-time staff with outdoor maintenance and improvement projects throughout the district.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mow lawns and maintain turf areas at school buildings and district properties using riding equipment and push mowers
• Perform weed removal in landscaped areas, sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, and building perimeters
• Complete general groundskeeping tasks such as raking, edging, mulching, leaf removal, and debris cleanup
• Assist full-time Buildings & Grounds staff with assigned projects and seasonal work
• Help prepare school grounds for daily use, special events, and the start of the school year
• Safely operate and properly maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment
• Follow all school district safety procedures and work practices
• Maintain a professional and respectful presence while working on school property
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible
• Prior groundskeeping or lawn care experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to work safely in an active school environment
