Job Summary
To provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to residents upon
physician referral and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and
facility standards.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy.
- Must be currently registered/licensed in the state of KY. Must maintain active license in good standing throughout employment.
- 1 year experience in post acute care or LTC setting preferred
- CPR certification preferred or required completion upon hire. CPR certification must remain current throughout employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison with residents, families, support departments, insurance companies etc to adequately plan for resident needs
- Demonstrate proper body mechanics at all times
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions
- Must be knowledgeable of occupational therapy practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing occupational therapy functions in the post-acute facility.
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of occupational therapy department.
- Must perform proficiently in all applicable competency areas.
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and / or confidential information.
- Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Display integrity and professionalism.
- Must be able to follow occupational treatment plans for residents
- Must be able to establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable,
timely and functional goals - Must be able to oversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, Rehab
Aides, and students. - Must be able chart appropriately and timely.
- Must be able to utilize software appropriately and accurately.
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward
residents, families, colleagues. - Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
- Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
- Must be able to communicate and function productively within an
interdisciplinary team. - Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach,
and move intermittently during working hours. - Must practice good personal hygiene
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull a minimum of 35 lbs.
