Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior Revenue Accountant will be the primary owner of our revenue cycle accounting, as well as related balance sheet reconciliations, and audit processes while ensuring efficient and timely operations. Responsible for maintaining financial controls and confirming financial compliance through analysis and preparation of reporting over the revenue cycle.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Revenue & AR Management: Lead the monthly close process for revenue and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy across all 130+ locations.
  • Cash Application: Manage the reconciliation of unapplied cash working in collaboration with the Revenue Operations team.
  • Intercompany Revenue: Oversee intercompany revenue transactions and eliminations to ensure consolidated financial integrity.
  • Provider Commissions: Calculate and record complex provider commission structures, ensuring timely and accurate payouts.
  • Technical Compliance: Maintain and update revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606, specifically tailored to healthcare entities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Revenue Operations team to resolve discrepancies and improve "quote-to-cash" workflows.
  • Monthly Close: Prepare month end close journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Sales Tax: Work with outside tax firm to ensure sales tax reporting and compliance are accurate
  • Annual Audit: Prepare appropriate audit support for transactions
  • Other duties as assigned

Performance Requirements, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills, such as pivots, lookups, and formula driven spreadsheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills to enhance team collaboration
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, following through to completion
  • Demonstrates cultural competency, sensitivity and responsiveness to various cultural characteristics and beliefs

 

Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • At least six (6) years of experience in revenue accounting preferred
  • Sage Intacct experience preferred
  • Modmed or similar practice management software experience preferred
  • Experience with fast-growing multi-site organization, preferably Healthcare related
  • US GAAP experience, preferred
  • Financial reporting experience preferred
  • CPA eligible highly preferred

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: 

Administrative office may have minimum visits to medical offices with possible exposure to procedure/exam room and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
