Position Summary

The Sales Manager supports the General Manager and Assistant Manager in leading store operations, driving sales performance, and ensuring excellent customer engagement. In this role, you’ll oversee daily operations when senior management is unavailable, monitor sales and merchandising programs, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The Sales Manager also plays a key role in building a strong culture on the sales floor—coaching associates, developing in-store promotions, and leading by example to achieve sales, profit, and customer service goals.

What You’ll Do

Sales Performance

  • Support management in implementing and monitoring customer engagement strategies to achieve sales and margin goals.

  • Implement best practices for merchandising and sales performance.

  • Ensure Ad merchandise is prominently displayed and related add-on items are cross-merchandised.

  • Lead by example in customer engagement techniques and maintain a visible presence on the sales floor.

  • Drive store metrics to consistently achieve set goals.

Store Operations & Administration

  • Ensure all operational standards meet company policies, with the goal of achieving VICTOR status.

  • Manage store operations in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Manager.

  • Evaluate and recommend capital improvements; oversee approved project implementation.

  • Maintain safety awareness and ensure compliance with operational standards.

Organizational Development

  • Assess staffing needs and implement strategies to improve customer service and efficiencies.

  • Maintain strong inventory accuracy, with emphasis on the Yellow Dot Program.

  • Coach and counsel associates, evaluating performance and supporting decisions on hiring, promotions, terminations, and development.

  • Encourage a positive store culture through accountability, coaching, and recognition.

  • Monitor open purchase orders, rain-checks, and estimates for proper follow-up.

  • Maintain proper merchandise signing and pricing.

  • Protect company assets by monitoring security and safety concerns.

Merchandising

  • Eliminate “Top Stock” throughout the store.

  • Plan and execute impactful ad sets to maximize sales.

  • Ensure merchandise is faced, clean, and presentable.

  • Implement plan-o-grams and adjacencies while providing feedback and creative input.

  • Keep stock levels maintained across aisles, end caps, and bargain bins.

  • Monitor competitive activity and share insights with leadership.

Expense Control

  • Manage and monitor established store budgets to achieve maximum profitability.

  • Actively work to reduce shrink and support expense control efforts.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven retail management or supervisory experience.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Solid understanding of sales strategies, merchandising, and store operations.

  • Ability to manage budgets, control expenses, and achieve profitability goals.

  • High energy, positive attitude, and ability to inspire others.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Leadership opportunity with measurable impact on sales and customer experience.

  • Be part of a locally rooted, community-focused company.

  • Supportive, team-oriented work environment.

  • Employee discount on the products you know and love.

  • Opportunities for career growth within a growing retail organization.
