Description
- Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment, including mechanical separators and centrifuges.
- Load beef trimmings into equipment according to production specifications.
- Continuously monitor product flow, equipment performance, and finished product quality.
- Conduct quality control checks, including texture, color, temperature, and moisture assessments.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance when repairs are needed.
- Accurately complete production logs, downtime records, and quality documentation.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Follow all health, safety, and USDA food handling regulations.
- Assist with equipment shutdown, cleaning, and reassembly as needed.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year of experience in meat processing, food production, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot production machinery.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to work in a cold environment (35–45°F) for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for long shifts.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Cold, wet, and physically demanding production environment.
- Regular exposure to raw meat products, mechanical equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
