Job Description

We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced project engineers. This is an onsite with flexibility work model role and is based at our office, located in Malaysia – Johor or KL.

The Project Engineer – Power Generation provides technical leadership and engineering execution support for medium to large power generation Data Center projects. This role is critical in delivering integrated power solutions for data center environments, requiring close collaboration with customers, consultants, vendors, and construction teams to meet performance, reliability and requirements, including successful commissioning of products offered within the project scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for power generation and data centre projects
  • Review and coordinate designs, technical documents, drawings, and specifications, with a focus on operational reliability.
  • Work closely with customers and suppliers to translate technical and commercial requirements into practical engineering solutions
  • Support development of engineering delivery and commissioning plans aligned with data centre standards
  • Identify and manage technical risks in line with project requirements, while proactively troubleshooting and resolving on-site engineering challenges
  • Interface with customers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on technical matters
  • Lead coordination with equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure solutions are optimized, compatible, and aligned to project goals
  • Support construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities, with hands-on involvement in resolving site issues
  • Monitor engineering deliverables, quality, and timelines
  • Assist Project Managers with technical inputs for planning and execution
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-project engineering activities
  • Ensure compliance with Cummins standards, ISO 9001, ISO 31000, and safety requirements, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to engineering solutions to project realities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering
  • 5–10 years of experience in power generation / electrical engineering projects
  • Experience in data center, mission-critical, or high-availability infrastructure projects
  • Hands-on experience with gensets, switchgear, control systems, HV/LV systems
  • Exposure to site-based engineering, commissioning, and testing
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering documentation
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel and work on construction sites
