Job Summary

The Division Vice President, Physician Permanent Recruitment & Leadership Solutions, is responsible for defining and executing the strategic growth, operational performance, and financial success of a national physician permanent placement and leadership search division.

This executive leader oversees full-cycle physician recruitment operations, including business development, search execution, client delivery, and leadership team performance, with a focus on permanent placement within hospitals, health systems, and enterprise healthcare organizations.

The role drives revenue growth, search fulfillment velocity, specialty mix optimization, and client satisfaction, while building and leading high-performing teams of recruiting and sales leaders.

Core Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Financial Performance

  • Develop and execute division growth strategy across physician permanent placement and leadership search services
  • Own full P&L, including forecasting revenue tied to permanent placement fees, fill rates, and time-to-fill
  • Analyze and optimize specialty mix, search volume, and placement yield to maximize profitability
  • Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to deliver weekly forecasts and monthly projections
     

Physician Recruitment Operations

  • Drive performance against key recruitment metrics:
    • Days to fill (physician roles)
    • Offer acceptance rates
    • Candidate pipeline conversion (from sourcing through placement)
  • Ensure alignment with healthcare market demand across key specialties (e.g., primary care, subspecialties, leadership roles)
  • Establish best practices for physician sourcing, candidate engagement, and client delivery
     

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a team of Directors and senior recruitment leaders responsible for physician permanent placement
  • Coach leaders on:
    • Physician recruitment strategy
    • Client and candidate lifecycle management
    • Sales and search execution discipline
  • Implement structured performance management, including KPIs, scorecards, and improvement plans
     

Client & Business Development Alignment

  • Partner with sales leadership to ensure alignment between:
    • Client demand
    • Search execution strategy
    • Market positioning
  • Improve conversion of leads into retained or contingent physician search engagements
  • Measure and optimize ROI across sourcing channels, including:
    • Physician job boards
    • Direct outreach campaigns
    • Industry events and referrals
       

Operational Excellence & Process Optimization

  • Translate enterprise goals into actionable production plans for recruiting teams
  • Implement scalable processes across:
    • Candidate identification
    • Screening and evaluation
    • Client presentation and placement
  • Leverage CRM, ATS, and data analytics tools to drive efficiency and decision-making
     

Employee Engagement & Compliance

  • Lead employee engagement, retention, and performance initiatives across the division
  • Manage employee relations in alignment with corporate and legal guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare recruitment regulations and internal policies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience in physician permanent recruitment
    OR High School Diploma/GED with 14+ years of experience in physician permanent recruitment
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing leaders (Directors or equivalent) in a healthcare staffing or physician search environment
  • Demonstrated success leading physician permanent placement teams at scale
  • Experience managing P&L, revenue forecasting, and operational performance metrics
  • Proven track record of driving:
    • Fill rates
    • Revenue growth
    • Client retention within physician recruitment
  • Experience with enterprise recruiting technologies (ATS/CRM platforms, reporting tools)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading academic medicine or executive physician search
  • Background supporting large health systems, IDNs, or national healthcare organizations
  • Experience optimizing specialty-specific recruiting strategies (e.g., hard-to-fill or rural roles)
  • Familiarity with healthcare market dynamics, physician compensation trends, and workforce shortages
  • Experience integrating data-driven recruiting strategies and AI-enabled sourcing tools

    Pay Rate

    $96,000 - $120,000 Salary

    Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
