Position: Maintenance Planner

Shift:

D Shift Mon-Thurs, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and automation-related equipment.
  • Prioritize work orders based on risk, production needs, safety requirements, and asset criticality.
  • Ensure accurate job plans including labor requirements, tools, spare parts, and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime.

2. Predictive & Condition-Based Maintenance

  • Lead implementation and optimization of predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies, such as:
    • Vibration analysis
    • Infrared thermography
    • Ultrasonic testing
    • Oil and lubrication analysis
    • Motor condition monitoring
  • Analyze PdM data to identify early fault indicators and schedule proactive corrective actions.
  • Maintain asset condition dashboards and issue regular reports on equipment health.

3. Reliability Engineering Support

  • Assist in developing equipment reliability strategies including RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and FMEA activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and chronic downtime issues.
  • Work with engineering to improve equipment design, PM procedures, and maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs through improved reliability.

4. CMMS Administration

  • Lead the use and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ensure accuracy of asset records, job plans, PM tasks, and maintenance histories.
  • Develop KPIs such as PM completion rates, MTBF, MTTR, schedule compliance, and unplanned downtime metrics.
  • Support digital transformation efforts related to IoT sensors, automated data collection, and advanced analytics.

5. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

  • Create accurate BOMs (Bills of Materials) and ensure critical spares are stocked appropriately.
  • Work with purchasing and storeroom teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce stockouts.
  • Track consumption trends to ensure long-term parts availability.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all planned jobs include proper safety instructions, permits, and lockout/ tagout requirements.
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OSHA standards.
  • Integrate reliability and safety goals to minimize risks associated with equipment failure.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of maintenance planning experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint, Fiix, or similar).
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and reliability tools (RCM, RCA, FMEA).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as CMRP, CRL, or PMP.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT sensors, or machine-learning-based predictive systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality standards and Tier 1 supplier operations.
  • Hands-on maintenance or reliability engineering background.
