Construction Services Technician

Indianapolis, IN
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm
Additional hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel may be required based on project needs
Overview
The Construction Services Technician supports substation construction, maintenance outages, and electrical infrastructure projects involving power transmission, distribution, and generation systems. This role performs hands on mechanical and electrical work, supports safe project execution, and helps maintain reliable service for customers.
What You Will Do
Perform installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting on substation and electrical equipment
Support construction activities including cable work, conduit, grounding, terminations, and equipment assembly
Assist with circuit breakers, relay panels, transformers, and related substation components
Use and maintain field tools, vehicles, and equipment
Participate in outages, safety meetings, training, and emergency response as needed
Complete assigned field duties and support customer project requirements

Work is completed safely, accurately, and on time
Equipment and jobsite standards are maintained
Documentation and reporting are completed properly
Customers and team members receive dependable support
What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of electrical substation construction experience required
Apprenticeship training is a plus
Ability to read schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams
Knowledge of applicable safety and industry standards
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment
Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in demanding field environments
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Must be willing to relocate within 60 miles of the hiring regional office
Must be able to work outdoors, travel overnight, and work extended hours as needed
Must be able to lift, climb, stoop, shovel, and perform physical field work
Other Requirements
Must be able to pass background, drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle screenings
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be willing to obtain required safety and site certifications
