    POSTITION PURPOSE: To develop students' interest, abilities, talents and skills for artistic expression and creativity in the musical arts, as well as aesthetic understanding and appreciation by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to performing assigned tasks; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. 
       

      JOB DESCRIPTION: The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success. We are looking for a teacher who has a genuine LOVE for children and learning.

       

      JOB REQUIREMENTS: Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. Implements instructional activities aligned to state standards and school philosophy.  Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with carrying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Uses and analyzes data to drive instruction. Teacher maintains effective and efficient record keeping via on-line school management system. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, colleagues and parish.

       

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  Current Indiana Teaching License or ability to obtain one with a strong and knowledgeable background in respective subject area/s and ability to work with various ability levels. Candidate must promote and nourish a love of learning and an excitement for their subject matter. Differentiated instruction, technology, and various tools must be implemented within every lesson.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

       
      • Knowledge of current musical instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
      • Knowledge of  curriculum and concepts.
      • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
      • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
      • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
      • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
      • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
       
      ADDITIONAL DUTIES:  Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
