Anderson School District Three is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in the 2026-2027 school year at Starr Elementary School. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and staff to provide individualized support, helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a structured and nurturing environment. Essential Duties:
- Assist in implementing student supports and accommodations as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the guidance of the certified teacher.
- Assist with small group instruction and individualized support to reinforce learning concepts.
- Develop a working understanding of each assigned student's IEP to effectively support their academic, behavioral, and functional goals.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and arrival/dismissal times.
- Assist students with basic needs, including hygiene, organization, and daily routines.
- Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers as directed by the teacher.
- Communicates with parents/legal guardians regarding the academic performance of the students.
- Observe and document student behavior and progress, sharing relevant information with the teacher.
- Support classroom management by reinforcing expectations and promoting positive behavior.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success and a welcoming school environment.
- Performs requirements as established by state and federal laws and requirements established by the Board of Trustees.
- Fulfills professional responsibilities beyond the classroom.
- Participates in professional development programs.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- Two Year Associates Degree or
- 60 Hours of College Coursework or
- Paraprofessional Assessment Test

REPORTS TO: Principal w/ Oversight from the Classroom Teacher
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: Teacher Aide Salary Schedule (Posted Online)
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal.
