Assists in the food preparation for the Freeport Vocational Center and DSS meals program.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assists Culinary Services Team in preparing food, cooking, heating, mixing, slicing, etc. to ensure food is properly prepared and available for participants and staff
- Assists in the preparation and set up for meals ensuring that quality and quantity guidelines are followed
- Completes kitchen clean up tasks and prepare food for storage following appropriate food handling procedures
- When requested assists in completing inventories in storeroom and storage area by physically counting materials to insure all items are accounted for as well as to ensure sufficient food supply for next day
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor and/or administration.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Food service experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in basic math skills.
Physical aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of food supplies.
