Job Description Summary

Responsible in overall tax compliance of the Group entities, supports the business units by ensuring compliance with the relevant tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements. The role involves assisting in tax planning, overseeing tax filings, managing audits and queries from tax authorities, and providing technical tax support to business units. The role is required to work closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and relevant authorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring overall tax compliance of operating units to ensure compliance with the relevant tax law, regulations and reporting requirements within the stipulated deadlines. This includes corporate tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, stamp duty, foreign tax.

  • Assist in preparation and/ or review of relevant tax returns, tax computations and any tax related statutory filings of operating units.

  • Prepare tax advisory and/ or support tax planning opportunities.

  • Handling tax audits, investigations, and correspondence with tax authorities.

  • Monitor tax law changes and assess impact on the business.

  • Assist in research of technical issues, maintaining and upkeeping of tax database.

  • Acting as the main liaison with Division Tax, finance personnel of operating units and assist in coordinating with external tax consultants.

  • Liaison with relevant authorities for submissions or clarifications.

 

Job Requirements

  • Degree/Professional qualification in Finance/Accountancy or other related courses.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
