Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor           Reports to: Maintenance Director

Department: Maintenance                               Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt                              Position Status: Essential

 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of Maintenance Workers, ensuring that necessary tasks are being completed in order to have smooth daily operations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees Maintenance Workers’, Porters and Kitchen Staff
  • Ensures that monthly Fire Safety/Fire Extinguisher Inspections are conducted promptly, and maintain a written log of such inspections
  • Participates in fire drills
  • Provide periodic reports of building systems, long term off lines and preventative maintenance activities, simple reports with follow up dates and noting challenges.
  • Ensures that the interior/exterior of building, surrounding perimeter are clean
  • Routinely review all maintenance logs such as fire safety inspections, boiler maintenance and elevator maintenance
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of goods necessary to keep the building in operational condition
  • Maintain records regarding Maintenance Staff’s PTO requests and balances
  • Maintain records of subordinate staff including performance evaluations, conferences and attendance records
  • Responsible for counseling/writing up any maintenance staff that is not completing job duties or adhering to company policies
  • In the event of an emergency, essential employees are required to report to work upon notification from the Maintenance Director, Program Director OR Home/Life
  • Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon assessment of company needs

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to interact effectively with the facility staff and client population (verbally and in writing)
  • Must be willing and able to be certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Must be capable of heavy lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as run, lift etc.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
