The Media & Trend Department oversees Rakuten’s media business, serving as a key user touchpoint within the Rakuten Group.

Guided by the mission “Supporting everyday life,” we operate multiple media services—including point-based media, news, and lifestyle content—used by more than 10 million users on a monthly basis.Our portfolio of media services includes Rakuten Super Point Screen, Rakuten Web Search, Rakuten Personal Finance, Infoseek, Rakuten Real Estate, Rakuten Blog, Rakuten Recipe, and Rakuten Calendar.

Position Details

Position Overview

This role is a product management position within the Media Business, responsible for accelerating the growth of assigned media products while maximizing user experience and business value.

You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle—from defining product vision and strategy to planning, development execution, performance measurement, and continuous improvement—while accurately capturing market trends and user needs.

Depending on the assigned product and your experience and interests, this role offers a flexible scope ranging from ownership of specific features to leading overall product strategy and execution.

Depending on your background and seniority, if hired into a management role, you may also be involved in team management, talent development, and organizational development.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in product management, product ownership, or equivalent roles for web services or mobile applications
- Experience using data and KPIs to identify issues, make decisions, and drive product improvements
- Experience driving product initiatives from a user-centric perspective while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders
 

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience developing products in the internet media domain
- Data analysis experience using SQL, Python, BI tools, or similar technologies
- Experience contributing to product strategy development or roadmap planning
- Experience leading teams or cross-functional projects, or people management experience
- Experience launching new products or major features
