Job Description
The Assistant Planner / Planning Engineer position is responsible for providing excellent service to our customers by effectively performing a broad range of responsibilities related to asset management, source of supply planning, capital project planning, and regulatory compliance. The Planning Group handles most planning efforts within the Engineering Department and works across departments on multi-disciplinary efforts, including water conservation, capital budgeting, and supply development. This position will report out of the State Operations Center.
The Assistant Planning Engineer performs a variety of duties. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
· Update and manage the Asset Management program for the Company; participate in efforts to utilize asset management for project planning
· Assist with capital planning efforts, including coordinating updates to Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs) with external consultants, updating 5-year plan, internal project prioritization efforts, and siting studies for new infrastructure projects
· Assist with regulatory compliance tasks, including but not limited to annual diversion permit and streamflow release reports, diversion permit applications, streamflow release plans, and sale of excess water permit applications
· Assist with source of supply efforts, including but not limited to supply assessments, monitoring sources, and Water Supply Plan updates
- Adheres to Company administrative reporting policies and controls.
- Works closely with local teams to ensure successful communication of information.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Engineering or STEM field preferred
- At least one year of experience in planning or engineering preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, required
