POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
The Registered Neurodiagnostics/Long Term Monitoring (LTM) tech in this position is knowledgeable of acquiring routine EEG’s, Video EEG’s and complex EEGs in a variety of settings that include, but are not limited to, critical care areas. Tech must also have knowledge to detect EEG abnormalities in order to notify the interpreting physicians. The Registered Neurodiagnostics/LTM Technician works under the direct supervision of the departmental manager, in accordance with the Administrative and Medical Directors.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school education or equivalent
- It is preferred that the individual in this position have successfully completed an Electroneurodiagnostics Technology program or have minimum of one years’ experience in Electroneurodiagnostics.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues
- Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance
- Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification
- Demonstrate effective written and communication skills.
- Demonstrate appropriate social skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
- Comply with the ASET Standards of Conduct.
- Participate in educational programs and in services meetings as required by lab standards.
- Maintain professional growth and development through continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations, including self-studies to keep abreast of latest trends in Electroneurodiagnostics.
