Job Description
Position Summary 

The Product Program & Retail Specialist will provide administrative support for all teams, with a specialized focus on Product Program & Retail, and functions as a contributing member of the Customer Experience Team.  
 
*START DATE* - no earlier than June 8, 2026

Essential Functions 
  • Member of the Help Desk and Customer Experience Team (Data Entry, Retail, Administrative) responding to email and phone questions, cover Help Desk shifts, and troubleshoot problems for volunteers/staff. 
  • Assist Product Program Department in coordination of all aspects of the nut/magazine and cookie program to ensure the sale remains a viable funding source for the council while increasing program value for the girls. 
  • Function as a lead point of contact for the Kalamazoo Office and handle frontline phone calls, inquiries, and help with administrative tasks. 
  • Oversee the running of the retail shop. Primary functions include but are not limited to providing exceptional customer service, inventory control, placing orders, and consistent upkeep of the retail shop. 
  • Strong human relations, problem solving, and conflict management skills required both in person and on the telephone when speaking with volunteers, staff, and organizations throughout the community. 
  • Ability to provide professional customer service, be willing to accept new responsibilities, and handle multiple projects. 
  • Ability to anticipate needs based on events/appointments/programs coming up, work independently, multi-task, and work well in a team environment. 
  • Serve as a positive example for girls and adults by modeling reliability, respect for others, inclusiveness, and a positive attitude. 
  • Willing to become a member of Girl Scouts of USA. 
  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time. 
  • Able to lift and/or manipulate up to 15 pounds.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience required. 
  • Proven high level data entry and retrieval skills a must. 
Work Schedule 
  • Full-time, non-exempt position and will work up to 40 hours each week.    
  • Position requires flexibility (could include evenings and weekends) with a schedule that could change weekly based on need. 
  • Most work hours will be Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some evening hours are required and attending the weekly team call is mandatory.  
Travel 

Must have own transportation and the ability to travel within the jurisdiction. Frequent travel within the council to various meeting locations with staff and volunteers. Travel is primarily during business day and evening hours.     

Work Environment 

Operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and a point-of-sale system. Will sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.
