Job Description

Top Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interviews patients to explain MRI procedures, obtain pertinent exam history (including symptoms, related studies, medical conditions, medications, allergies and surgeries) and to verify the safety requirements have been met for metal objects and implant which may be hazardous to the patient and/or equipment.
  • Performs studies following protocols requested by the Radiologist and/or Referring Physician. 
  • Gains IV access or performs injections as needed.
  • Displays competency with RIS and PACS systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from a JRCERT accredited college or technical school. One year related experience and/or training or equivalent

combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology with advanced certification in MRI. If not registered in MRI, must take ARRT advanced level certification exam within one

year of employment. Continuing education in accordance of the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan. Certification in CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Well lighted, comfortable working environment. Working in a high magnetic field area. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases. Possible exposure to hazardous

materials per department/MSDS listing. Occasional fluctuation in work schedule to meet patient/department/organizational needs. Concentration on details with frequent

interruptions/distractions.



Majority of technologist coverage would be in Royal Oak, but coverage as needed would be in Novi and Southgate.
