    Henniker Community School is seeking passionate and dynamic Special Education Teachers to work in our Life Skills Classrooms. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and training in specialized programming for students with diverse learning needs, inclusion practices, co-teaching, and delivery of specialized instruction in math, writing, reading, executive functioning, and behavior management practices.  
    Responsibilities Include:

    • Providing Specialized Instruction in both individual and small group modalities
    • Modifying curriculum to provide hands on, engaging learning opportunities to students with significant learning needs.
    • Utilizing effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior across educational settings
    • Consulting and coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team for the development and implementation of student programming, accommodations and modifications .
    • Collaborating with parents, support staff, and other educators to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
    • Managing the special education process from referral to discharge under the direction of the Student Services Coordinator to ensure state and federal law compliance for the students assigned to their caseload.
    • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
    • NH DOE certification in General Special Education (1900) required or eligibility with the NHDOE.
    • Experience developing behavior supports and familiarity with co-teaching practices preferred.
