    Part-Time ASL/Interpreter Position

    RSU 3 is seeking a dedicated professional to work with our special education team at Mount View Elementary School.
    We are looking for a Teacher of the Deaf, certified sign language interpreter, or an individual fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
    to support our students with hearing impairments and communication needs.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments.
    • Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers.
    • Collaborate with special and general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
    • Assist in developing IEP goals.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
    • Teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
    • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
    • Experience with assistive technology and hearing devices.
    • Knowledge of deaf culture and community.
    • Fluency in American Sign Language.
