    High School CTE Teacher 

    Position Purpose 
    Under the general supervision of the School Principal, we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher with a focus on manufacturing, including wood shop and welding, to join our team. This position serves both high school and middle school students, providing hands-on, skills-based instruction that prepares learners for careers in the trades, manufacturing, and related industries. The ideal candidate is passionate about experiential learning and committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive workshop environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in manufacturing, woodworking, and welding aligned with state CTE standards
    • Teach foundational and advanced skills in areas such as tool safety, materials processing, fabrication, and design
    • Create a hands-on learning environment that emphasizes problem-solving, craftsmanship, and real-world application
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workshop space
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners across grades 7�12
    • Assess student progress through projects, demonstrations, and practical evaluations
    • Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and community organizations to enhance program offerings
    • Support students in exploring career pathways, certifications, and post-secondary opportunities in skilled trades

    Qualifications:

    • Valid teaching license in Career and Technical Education, Industrial Technology, or related field (or ability to obtain)
    • Experience in manufacturing, woodworking, welding, or a related industry
    • Strong knowledge of shop safety standards and procedures
    • Ability to manage a workshop classroom effectively and maintain equipment
    • Commitment to student-centered learning
    • Strong communication and organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Industry certifications in welding, manufacturing, or related fields
    • Experience teaching middle and/or high school students
    • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, fabrication technologies, or modern manufacturing processes
    • Ability to integrate academic concepts (math, science) into technical instruction 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

    Certification/License:

    • State Certification as required for position.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
    • Masters Degree preferred.

    Experience: 
    Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
