GENERAL PURPOSE
To support the intentional, ethical, and secure integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the district to enhance operational efficiency, support academic integrity, and foster stakeholder AI literacy. This position will collaborate with a variety of staff to understand current use of AI, provide support in how to integrate AI into processes, and provide training on approved AI tools.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure all AI initiatives align with Missouri state privacy laws (such as Student Data Privacy acts) and district-specific ethical guidelines.
- Consult with departments and staff to identify tasks suitable for AI assistance to reduce repetitive tasks by leading process improvement workshops.
- Develop training opportunities and materials for staff on the effective use of AI tools that are aligned with approved AI tools.
- Support the adoption of an AI literacy framework and provide resources to staff to increase knowledge of AI literacy.
- Monitor the use of AI and collaborate with district administration on the approval of AI tools that align with district data governance practices and support the Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with Information Technology staff to ensure the protection of data and enforcement of data privacy standards in the use of AI.
- Continually update the district’s AI use plan and associated documents and communicate updates around AI use in the organization to administration and staff.
- Serve as a point of contact for district staff to report misuse of AI and support investigation of misuse in coordination with Human Resources.
- Maintain a list of approved AI products and collaborate with district administration on the approval process which includes review of vendor use terms and adoption of the district’s data privacy requirements.
- Create and maintain robust documentation related to the use and governance of AI tools and use cases throughout the organization.
- Perform other related duties as required/assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements
- Google AI Professional certification or comparable certification preferred or ability to obtain one.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the district, required.

- Knowledge of computing basics; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
- Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include general understanding of artificial intelligence; specific knowledge of generative artificial intelligence and agentic artificial intelligence; enterprise software and operating systems use; data security and data privacy frameworks (FERPA, COPPA); project management; general business processes.
- Skill to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
- Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including utilizing a variety of software applications including enterprise and productivity software; adhering to safety practices; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
- The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
- Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
