The Equipment/Automotive Painter will be responsible for:

• preparing metal and other surfaces on equipment and automotive equipment for painting, applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns and other auto painting equipment. 
• removing accessories, glass, trim, and other parts. 
• cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for painting
• applies primers and finish coats to automobiles, trucks, trailers and equipment.
• applies decals and trim
• may do body work 
• may work with flammable and toxic materials
• other job as directed by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must have good knowledge of painting, body work, materials, techniques used in the trade
• a good knowledge of maintaining spray guns, and other auto painting equipment
• Must be safety conscious with the ability to follow established policies and procedures both written and orally
• general knowledge of stenciling, spray gun usage and other auto painting equipment

Safety

• Will spend a substantial portion of time spray painting thus requiring employee to wear a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus or other safety related equipment as needed when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors

Physical Requirements:

• ability to lift up to 35 lbs. repetitively and occasionally over 70 lbs.
• ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and balance under precarious conditions; arm, hand and finger dexterity with at least one hand involved in reaching, grasping and feeling with good eyesight and color vision.
