Retention Bonus: $3,000: ($1,500 at 90 days, and $1,500 at 6 months)

To be a successful BSRB Licensed, Youth Case Manager (Permanency Specialist) you must become able to do the following always:

  1. Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
  2. Work as part of a team to access resources, plan, and advocate to improve the quality of people’s lives.
  3. Exercise discretion and judgement in the best interest of children served. Provide knowledge, skills, and tools to children and families to successfully function within the expectations and procedures outlined in the Department of Children & Families (DCF) policy and procedure manual as well company policy and procedures. Teach skills such as emotion regulation, having healthy relationships, conflict resolution, and healthy communication within families.
  4. Engage the family in a meaningful relationship and utilize assessment and case planning to guide services. Help the family navigate the difficult terrain of the child welfare system, while ensuring safety needs are assessed and addressed.
  5. Visit with children and families one-on-one at least monthly to support progress toward permanency. Identify and remove barriers to timely reunification.
  6. Utilize assessments to build the family case plan and make placement referrals.
  7. Attend court hearings and submit timely court reports.
  8. Achieve timely reunification within 12 months for all referred cases. through engagement with the family consistent with the practice framework. For those cases unable to reunify, support and achieve timely permanency preferably through either adoption or guardianship.
  9. Document all work and submit 100% of documentation per company policy.
  10. Work collaboratively with case management team members, stakeholders, and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).  Provide training and mentoring as needed.
  11. Ensure compliance to regulatory board requirements including maintenance of field training. Knowledge of DCF policy and procedures.
  12. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

Requirements

To qualify for this job, you need to have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. Licensed with Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board. 
  2. Work Experience - One (1) to three (3) years of child welfare experience.
  3. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, the ability to work on several tasks concurrently, and attention to detail and deadlines are essential to this position.
  4. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance and the ability to travel, driving company or personal vehicle including at night.
  5. 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
  6. Maintain company-required training.
  7. Physical working requirements - Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk stairs. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.  Employees are subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
