Summary:



The Business teacher is responsible for developing and delivering curriculum/instructional lessons for Marketing and Management, Entrepreneurship, Money Matters I and II and Intro to Business. Newton North takes great pride in being a Comprehensive High School. We have a solid Business Pathway and are looking to further develop options and opportunities for our students. The successful candidate will seek collaboration with the other business teachers, possess enthusiasm for teaching with technology, promote independent thinking, creative problem solving, and intellectual curiosity and demonstrate a commitment to students’ success both within and beyond the classroom. Qualifications:



Required Qualifications: 


Bachelor’s Degree  


Current Massachusetts Business Education license 


Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues 


Ability to work well with a collaborative team 


Excellent oral and written communication skills 


Computer proficiency 



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):



Develop curricula that reflect the diverse educational needs of students 


Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects 


Present subject matter to students using various differentiated teaching methods and technology 


Communicate frequently with students, counselors, parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators 


Assess student work, maintain grade book, alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress 


Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students 


Other duties as needed



Work Environment & Physical Requirements:



Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day, however there may be occasions for afterschool meetings (ex: Back to  School Night). Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school  building. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.
