Nelson Nissan is looking for a Used Car Technician to join our team!

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Used Car Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in vehicle diagnostics and heavy line repair and hold relevant ASE certifications. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing used vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards before sale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough inspections on used vehicles to identify mechanical and safety concerns

  • Diagnose drivability issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Complete heavy line repairs, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and drivetrain systems

  • Perform maintenance services such as brakes, alignments, and fluid services

  • Ensure all repairs meet dealership and manufacturer standards

  • Accurately document work performed and parts used

  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and management regarding repair status

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–5 years of automotive technician experience, preferably in a used car or reconditioning environment

  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues

  • Experience performing heavy line repairs (engine and transmission work required)

  • ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8 or Master Technician status is a plus)

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Own set of tools required
