Job Description

Ultra Tendency Group is an international big data boutique and consultancy specialising in Big Data, Cloud, Streaming, IIoT, and Microservices. Founded in Germany in 2010, we are a Databricks Global Professional Services DPP-Partner with 20+ open-source contributions across Ansible, Terraform, NiFi, and Kafka. Our clients include the European Central Bank, Deutsche Telekom, HUK-Coburg, and Europe's largest car manufacturer. We now operate nine branches across three continents — and Korea is next.

Korea is a strategic priority for our Asia-Pacific expansion. As our first hire in the country, you will have a genuine founding mandate: build the client base, establish the entity, hire the team, and set the culture. You will operate with the autonomy of an entrepreneur and the backing of a 15-year-old international firm with deep technical credibility and an established global network.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary based on skills, experience, and market demand.
  • 20 annual paid leave days and local employment in Korea.
  • Flexible working style: work from home, co-working spaces, or the main office.
  • International career opportunities across three continents.
  • Regular feedback, annual performance reviews, and networking-based growth.
  • A collaborative, diverse environment where your ideas make a real impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Business development & representation:

  • Serve as managing director of the Korean entity and the company's primary representative to clients, partners, public bodies, and industry groups
  • Build and grow our client and partner ecosystem in Korea, with a particular focus on the Databricks partner network
  • Represent Ultra Tendency at industry events and trade forums; adapt business development approaches to Korean business culture and customs
  • Manage corporate legal matters including contracts, compliance, risk, and regulatory affairs; liaise with external counsel as needed
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the business

Finance, accounting & treasury:

  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and tax compliance in collaboration with local experts and the Ultra Tendency Group finance team
  • Manage banking relationships, cash flow, treasury operations, and liquidity in coordination with Group entities
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with applicable Korean accounting standards

People & culture:

  • Lead talent acquisition and build the initial Korea team
  • Own HR strategy including compensation, performance management, employee relations, and Korean labor law compliance
  • Foster the inclusive, knowledge-sharing culture that defines Ultra Tendency globally

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years of business development or consulting experience in Korea, with a strong existing network of enterprise decision-makers
  • 2+ years in a leadership role within an international organisation
  • Deep fluency in both Korean and international business culture — comfortable operating at the executive level in both
  • Full professional proficiency in Korean and English; German and/or Japanese is a meaningful plus
  • Familiarity with the IT and software landscape in Korea; existing relationships within the Databricks ecosystem are a strong advantage
  • Experience in managing legal entity operations, financial compliance, and HR in Korea (recommended)
