- Supports teachers and related service providers with designing and implementing data-driven strategies that meet the learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Provides instructional coaching in all academic areas which includes student-centered observation-feedback cycles with individual teachers and related service providers focused on improving student outcomes through effective instruction and assessment.
- Facilitates reflection and problem solving with teachers and related service providers through goal setting to establish and promote improvements in student outcomes.
- Models lessons as needed to support teacher development.
- Builds teacher capacity in ensuring all students with disabilities have equitable access to rigorous learning opportunities that take individual student needs into consideration.
- Supporting teachers and related service providers in understanding, analyzing, and utilizing data to support equitable student access to learning.
- Establishes a culture that uses student data regularly to improve instructional practices.
- Supporting teachers and related service providers in deepening their knowledge of specially designed instruction while aligning standards, curriculum, and assessment throughout the district.

Job Responsibilities:
The Special Education Coach will provide instructional support and coaching to the Windsor Public Schools special education teachers and related service providers as they work to develop data-driven IEPS and implement specially designed explicit instruction in the targeted goal areas. The primary role of the Special Education Coach is to work with special education teachers and related service providers to support best practices in using data, writing goals and objectives, observing instruction, and making recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of individual needs of students. This position will primarily support our elementary PSES Staff and Students.
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and the Elementary Special Education Supervisor.
